May 20 — Ungodly Sibling Rivalries. Hebrews 1:5 “For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?”

While the LDS Church plays its game of ‘continuing revelation’, one thing has remained the same. Their ungodly doctrine that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers is still intact. The reference from Mr. Smart in 1901 pretty much mirrors a comment made by one of their apostles in 1990.
As you chat with the Mormon in your life, lovingly ask what they think about Hebrews 1:5.

General Conference, Overflow Meeting, p. 53, April 1901 “Two plans were laid before the councils, and because of the humble and obedient spirit that was shown in Jesus Christ, He was chosen to carry out that plan, which His Father approved, and Satan rebelled because the trust was given unto his more meek brother Jesus.” — William H. Smart
One of the things I like to discuss with Mormons to get them thinking is to demonstrate that Satan’s name was never “Lucifer,” and that he got that name from the KJV which erroneously translated the Hebrew. So using “Lucifer” as a name proves Smith invented the whole thing.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his One and Only Son, that whosover believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) (NIV)
