Jesus. Is. God. Zechariah 13:7c; “Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.”
John 14:9; “Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?”

Both God and man … These two verses certainly qualify for the top ten of important verses where God reveals Himself to us personally, as well as the important role of God’s mercy for mankind.
Remember the Hebrew transliteration for fellow is amiyth. It means equal, or partner. It can also mean a relative, or someone who has the same likeness in nature. This is obviously pointing to the deity of God in Jesus.
Quite often I think about the day I first heard that Jesus is God. I’d never felt so small in my life, while at the same time things finally made sense. In many ways I felt just like Philip did that day 2,000 years ago.
As we’ve mentioned so many times before, Mormons reject the idea that God came down in human flesh. They’ll blame others for an ‘apparent’ mistranslation of years ago, or they’ll blame unknown entities for losing the original texts. Their laundry list of excuses isn’t anything God hasn’t heard before, but what will be ‘new’ news is when Mormons face Him, and realize they bought into the lies of Joseph Smith. Jesus will say the same thing to them that He did Philip. How can you say ‘show us the Father’… Dear Mormon friends, if you haven’t heard…Jesus is indeed God!

Principles and Practices of the Restored Gospel, p 42; “Because the life of the Savior duplicated that of the Father in so many ways, Jesus could say, “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.” (John 14:9.) Not fully understanding the intimate relationship between Christ and the Father, many Christian sects have taken this and similar passages to mean that the Father and Son are simply manifestations of the same holistic person or abstract entity.” – Victor L. Ludlow
