How sins are purged. Malachi 3:3; “And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.”
Luke 1:78, “Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us.”
John 1:9; 12:46; “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.”
2 Peter 1:19; “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.”
Revelation 2:28, 19:11-16, 22:16; “2:28 And I will give him the morning star.
19:11-16 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
22:16 Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”

Our sins are purged … Oh the imagery He’s given us is just breathtaking. I’d use some other phrase or adjectives, but my mind is insufficient to express them. I can’t get the part out of my head that His vesture was dipped in blood. As a Mormon I’d recoil at such words, but as a Christian I am humbled, and oh, so very grateful for His love and care over me. King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Glory, Alleluia!
Mormons reject every part of each scripture we’ve listed here today. They believe Moroni was the angel who already testified, they don’t believe Jesus is God and they firmly believe they are purified through the ordinances of their own priestcraft. They also believe Joe Smith’s claim he was the root and offspring of David. Oh, be still my heart…pray for them today. Pray that our righteous, perfect and loving God, would shower mercy upon their hearts and minds today as they celebrate the birth of the true King of Kings.

Mormon Doctrine, p 514; “Moroni…in modern times, as a resurrected being, because he held “the keys of the record of the stick of Ephraim” (D. & C. 27:5), he came to the Prophet and revealed the Book of Mormon. This coming was in partial fulfilment of John’s vision of another angel flying in the midst of heaven to commit the everlasting gospel to man. (Rev. 14: 6-7; D. & C. 133:36-40.)” – Bruce McConkie
