Just a simple reminder of how Joe Smith’s church began in 1830. This was originally posted July 2015.
History of the Church 6:73, 78; “Letter to James Arlington Bennett, Nauvoo, Illinois, November 13, 1843…I combat the errors of ages; I meet the violence of mobs; I cope with illegal proceedings from executive authority; I cut the Gordian knot of powers, and I solve mathematical problems of universities, with truth— diamond truth; and God is my “right hand man.””
Psalm 62:8; “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
The other day I was thinking about King David…
The devotion King David had for the Lord still stands as a hallmark example for us more than four millennia later. A king without any hesitation, lowered himself and paid homage to, the true God of Israel. His unabashed loyalty to God tells us that no created being is greater than, or equal to, the Creator of All Things.
Did you notice? King David said ‘in God is my glory’! David, the King of all of Israel, who had men, women, and children bowing to him all day every day, knew God was his glory.
Compare King David’s testimony with that of Joe Smith who had a 3rdgrade education, was a sinner, and who thought of himself as ‘impregnable’. The audacity Mr. Smith held so tightly to speaks for itself.
You’ll remember his track record of being chased out of NY, MO, and OH, not to mention the record of the 12 men he chose to represent God. As I said, the history speaks for itself.
Pray for those who without hesitation, spiritually bow at the feet of ol’ Joe. My mother is a good example of this, as well as the young girl who wrote in the other day…sigh… Neither will stop to question their actions as they build up walls around their hearts resembling Fort Knox. Talk about impregnable.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
Jude 24-5

I know that God loves you no matter what. I know that God loves me no matter what, nothing is ever going to change that. You may believe that the Latter-day Saints are going to Hell but I know that God doesn’t love that way. God loves all of His children no matter what they a have done in their lives. You are going to face trials and hardships and pain in life like everyone else, and He is going to still going to love you. No matter what choices you have made or will make in your life, I know that God will allow you to be sealed with your family forever, you’ll be able to be with him for all eternity, and you’ll be in the Celestial Kingdom because no matter what you or I have done in our lives, He loves you. Don’t ever forget that. Every person has made mistakes, especially apostles. One of Christ’s own apostles (Judas) betrayed Him. Jesus Christ is perfect and Joseph Smith is far from perfect. He did the best with what he had and that is enough. I sustain every one of His apostles from all time because they are His, and that’s enough for me. Have a Happy New Year!
