Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
The scripture above is what I saw every day when I went into the offices of Saints Alive back in the ‘90’s. Ed always had his Bible opened to the front page where he had written that verse down, and so it was visible right there on his desk. The verse became emblazoned in my memory bank – PTL!
This month as I was organizing our articles for the websites, Ed’s bible kept coming to mind as I noticed a recurring theme.
Mandates.
Taken from our 3,000+ Reasons to Leave Mormonism – Reasons Starting with ‘W’
Mormon Doctrine, p. 590; “From the time of their spirit birth, the Father’s pre-existent offspring were endowed with agency and subjected to the provisions of the laws ordained for their government. They had power to obey or disobey and to progress in one field or another. “The first principles of man are self-existent with God,” the Prophet said. “God himself, finding he was in the midst of spirits and glory, because he was more intelligent, saw proper to institute laws whereby the rest could have a privilege to advance like himself.” (Teachings, p. 354.)”
It seems the Church has overrun itself with them, and sadly, they’ve not passed along the truth. Living on this side of the cross means we are free, as Paul so eloquently pointed out in his epistle to the Galatians.
Their dismal status makes our hearts heavy, and we pray Mormons will come to know Christ Jesus, and Him crucified. My mother’s unending quest to work herself to death is always troublesome…
To get a clear picture of how this permeates the life of Mormons, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most important mandates. This, by no means, is exhaustive. There are things we’re positive we haven’t listed here, but it gives people a good idea of how Mormonism is far removed from Christianity.
(Many of the following quotes can also be found in our Mormon Lifestyles section.)
We pray our brothers and sisters in Christ will pray for the Mormon people, and be able to use a few of the following examples.

The laws of Mormonism necessary for salvation are virtually endless. How can any Mormon actually believe they are saved, since it would be impossible to follow all these rules?
