I suppose this conference wasn’t much different than its predecessors, however, it seems their words go further to confuse than in years past. The blatant lies they tell are a shock to the sensibilities of those who know the true Jesus.
The three talks we’ve listed here earned themselves a spot in our series, ‘Worst of the Worst’, just as the last three. Two of them are courtesy of their apostle Dallin Oaks who seemed to go out of his way to deceive.
#4 – LDS Lies: Leaders Speak Only Truth
Where Will This Lead? “My brethren, and my sisters…I hope you know why your leaders give the teachings and counsel we give. We love you, and our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, love you. … As servants of the Father and the Son, we teach and counsel as They have directed us by the Holy Ghost. We have no desire other than to speak what is true…” – Dallin Oaks
Off the top of my head, I can think of at least 6 statements from LDS leaders that refute this man’s words. A section on this site, LDS Leaders Who Admit Mormonism Isn’t True, comes to mind as proof. Another example is when Mr. Nelson admitted the BoM isn’t historical, while at the same time their own site proclaimed the following message –
MormonNewsroom.org “Latter-day Saints also consider the Book of Mormon to be a record of great ancient-American civilizations.”
#5 – The Savior Performed His Atonement
The Atonement of Jesus Christ “Because the Savior performed His Atonement, there is no external force or event or person—no sin or death or divorce—that can prevent us from achieving exaltation, provided we keep God’s commandments. …” — Tad R. Callister
The way this man phrased his message seemed rather odd, so I asked a few people for their opinions and they agreed. The words, ‘Because the Savior performed His atonement’, makes it sound like their savior died for himself. If they’d just follow the Bible the
The old saying, ‘If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything’ is apropos on this one. When we’re immersed in His word it’d be difficult to think of anything else but Jesus sacrificing Himself for us.
1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”.
Why is it that Jesus’ death on the cross for our salvation isn’t good enough? The focus of Jesus’ death on the cross was put on a back burner to make room for exploiting their hopes of godhood status. Mr. Callister’s talk is now more about himself, not Jesus.
#6 – Ordinances Cleanses Sin
Cleansed by Repentance “We need to partake of the sacrament each Sabbath day. In that ordinance we make covenants and receive blessings that help us overcome all acts and desires that block us from the perfection our Savior invites us to achieve (see Matthew 5:48; 3 Nephi 12:48). As we “deny [ourselves] of all ungodliness, and love God with all [our] might, mind and strength,” then we may “be perfect in Christ” and be “sanctified” through the shedding of His blood, to “become holy, without spot” (Moroni 10:32–33).” — Dallin H. Oaks
Technically, we can add another lie to the list of untruths made by LDS leaders, all thanks to Dallin Oaks. My works can’t make me holy anymore than my hoping the dog would clean up after itself could make me holy.
Speaking of messes, the Lord concurs –
Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
When you have time to share the truth with a Mormon, using the correct definition for important biblical events is a must! Unfortunately, the LDS Church has trained their people to use Christian vocabulary, and tricked them into believing the wrong definition for the words they use.
Where in the Bible does Jesus invite us to achieve perfection?
As the Bible tells us, we’re alive in Christ, and dead to sin!
As we walk with the Lord, we exhibit more fruits of the Spirit because our behavior has changed when we changed our beliefs. As my pastor said tonight at church, the old is exchanged for the new!
Moreover beloved, Jesus is the One Who cleanses us from sin.
1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
The lies in Mr. Oaks’ message are patently false, and must be immediately dismissed!
Please, pray for those who listened to the mountain of lies they heard, and compare them with what our Lord says in His unchanging word.

They speak great swelling words of vanity. Ever notice GAs always reminding members of how much they truly love them, followed by a montage of the many wonderful things they have done, such as helping defenseless widows (Monson), flying bigger and better airplanes (Uchdorf).
While they promise them liberty, they allure through the lusts of the flesh… In other words, you members should always do more. Don’t complain about your callings, in fact, volunteer to do more callings, attend the temple often, never miss a meeting, knock on peoples doors (uninvited and late at night) to remind them of re-embracing the restored gospel; help people move on weekends, clean the church every Saturday morning..And, if you do all the church asks you to do, God will bless you. Problem is, the people can never do enough to satisfy the greed of the church.
Salvation, according to the Mormon church, has less to do with the shedding of Jesus precious blood on the cross, than it does with performing certain works that are always designed to benefit the church, not individual people.
Well said soldiermp, I couldn’t agree more. When you are a member of a D.I.Y. religion, it’s all based on what you can do to be righteous. In this case self righteous. In stead of what Christ did, we can be made righteous.
Once we realize we can’t do it on our own and except the fact we fall so short, (even on our best day )and need a Savior. It’s only because of His righteousness. Its a tough concept, for sure, don’t put the cart before the horse so to speak.

Melisa: No I didn’t attend Easter Service at my ward. I haven’t gone to church in 6 months except to do a little something for the callings I have. The church often uses calling to keep people engaged.
