Mormon Doctrine, p. 472 “If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation. There is no salvation outside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” — Bruce R. McConkie, 1966
Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
It’s really quite simple beloved.
The salvation God grants to creation is a gift. You can either accept it, or reject it.
It’s obvious the whole system of Mormonism has rejected the Lord’s goodness and mercy for the likes of Joe Smith. As you endeavor out in missions, and/or meet w/ loved ones this summer, just remember what God has said in His word.
Many Mormons discount McConkie’s work, but the evidence speaks for itself. If it wasn’t for Joe Smith’s ‘restoration’, Mormons believe there is no salvation which means they’ve rejected Jesus.

Ranking Joe right up there with Jesus Christ! Way to go Bruce. I think I will trust that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
McConkie isn’t the only one who said Smith is necessary for salvation. Brigham Young said,No man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith. From the day that the Priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding-up scene of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are.
Young also said this: <I?How are you going to get your resurrection? You will get it by the President of the Resurrection pertaining to this generation, and that is Joseph Smith Junior . . . no man or woman in this generation will get a resurrection and be crowned without Joseph Smith says so. The man who was martyred in Carthage Jail, State of Illinois, holds the keys of Life and Death to this generation. He is the President of the Resurrection in this Dispensation and he will be the first to rise from the dead.
Then thee was 11th President Harold B. Lee who said, A testimony of Joseph Smith is vital. No man can accept Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world, no man can accept this as His church, the Church of Jesus Christ, unless he can accept Joseph Smith as God’s mouthpiece and the restorer of His work in these latter days. First, to say that we are Christians then requires two or three certainties. We must know for certainty in our hearts and minds that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of the world. We must know that this in indeed the Church of Jesus Christ, the kingdom of God on earth in these last days; and finally we must have a testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.
Joseph Fielding Smith put it quite simply when he said there is “no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith.”
BYU Professor Robert Millet has stated that to deny that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God is to deny Jesus Christ.
Psalm 118:8-9 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the Lord than put confidence in princes.
