August 2 – Jesus is worshiped, but NOT in Mormonism. Matthew 2:2 “Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him”.
_____
There are websites and libraries filled with countless articles and books Mormons have produced in their attempt to answer the question: ‘Do you worship Jesus Christ?’ Even their apostle Russell Ballard gave a 1 minute explanation you can watch on Youtube where he explains the name of their church has Jesus’ name in it, they pray in Jesus’ name, close their services in prayer in Jesus’ name, serve communion in Jesus’ name, and on, and on it goes.
However, the answer to the question remains unanswered. Or does it? Their silence is pregnant with denial. Mormons do not worship the One and Only Incarnate God, Jesus Christ. Ask the Mormon why they want to be called Christians if they won’t worship Jesus Christ.
Also ask why the BoM says Nephi worshiped Jesus, and the Bible says people worshiped Jesus. Why don’t Mormons worship Jesus?
_____
3 Nephi 11:17 “Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God! And they did fall down at the feet of Jesus, and did worship him”.
Mormons got their permission to be called Christians,by none other than President Jimmy Carter. Some years ago, Pres Carter was asked if he believed Mormons to be Christians. He said that he did. Leaders within the church have also been invited, with an open arms, to Christian leadership conferences and assemblies. Mormons see this as confirmation of their status as Christian(???????)
The scriptures do state: “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him and he in God” (1 John 4:15) “Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God.” (1 John 4:3)’ “Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the father, but he that acknowledges the Son, hath the father also.” (1 John 2:23)
The problem is, the Mormons do not confess nor do they believe in the same God and Son of God that is written about (by God himself) in the Bible. In other words, God has spoken to us in the Bible. He has described for us everything we need to know to have good lives here on earth and the promise(s) to live with him eternally. The Mormons have said, that God’s Word (Bible) is not good enough for them, therefore, they are going to believe in the words of a criminal, glass looker, wizard, thief and adulterer. They are children with itching ears waiting to be deceived.
Sadly the insight you shared is true. But Carter wasn’t the only guilty party.
Even my own favorite minister Billy Graham endorsed them by publicly stating they’re not a cult. After working w/ the Grahams for a # of yrs I was shocked.
Additionally, the Falwells are guilty too when they keep inviting the likes of Rush Limbaugh to speak at their ceremonies @ Liberty University.
You can also add the theologian Richard Mouw who’s spoken at the Tabernacle at least 2x that I know of in his argument for Christians to apologize to Mormons at large for believing they’re in a cult.
None of those examples have set well in my heart/mind.
Each example above has had their own reasons why they’ve done what they have – and each will answer to our Lord for their decision. I’ve always admired the three men I’ve mentioned and pray the body of Christ will continue to stand against anything evil – regardless of a recommendation from renowned people of the day.
