3 Nephi 20:3-7 “And it came to pass that he brake bread again and blessed it, and gave to the disciples to eat. 4 And when they had eaten he commanded them that they should break bread, and give unto the multitude. 5 And when they had given unto the multitude he also gave them wine to drink, and commanded them that they should give unto the multitude. 6 Now, there had been no bread, neither wine, brought by the disciples, neither by the multitude; 7 But he truly gave unto them bread to eat, and also wine to drink.”
Matthew 14:19-21 “And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. 20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. 21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.”
Wow, what are the odds?
Why is it Jesus did the same thing in America that he did in Israel? And why is the story in the BoM bigger, and better than what took place in the Bible?
Did you notice the magic trick in the example above?
Nephi tells us the Mormon Jesus fed the crowds even when there was no bread, and no wine. In the Bible Jesus ‘merely’ multiplied the things that were already there. Good grief…
Does this sound feasible to you?
If you’re LDS, have you wondered why this story is in the BoM, and what purpose it serves for you personally?
Lastly beloved, the two verses preceding this passage sound a lot like a game of Simon says…
3 Nephi 20:1-2 “And it came to pass that he commanded the multitude that they should cease to pray, and also his disciples. And he commanded them that they should not cease to pray in their hearts. 2 And he commanded them that they should arise and stand up upon their feet. And they arose up and stood upon their feet.”
Please pray that those who are caught in these pretend stories will leave for a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus, and Him crucified!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle

Not sure why they felt the need to document this in “Times and Seasons”, but I got a good laugh out of it. This is what an “old Indian” had to say about the BoM…
“An old Indian attended a Mormon meeting and heard one of its advocates extol Mormonism, he was requested to give his opinion of its merits. He began by detailing the great good that had been done by the Bible, God being the author; and said he, the devil seeing this determined to have a Bible of his own also; but on examination, he felt ashamed of his work, and hid it in Ontario County, N.Y. but Joe Smith dug it up, and published it as a revelation from God”.
