Journal of Discourses 6:345-346 “Some would have us believe that God is present everywhere. It is not so. He is no more everywhere present in person than the Father and Son are one in person. The Bible teaches that doctrine precisely as it is.
The kingdom that the Almighty will set up in the latter days will have its officers, and those officers will be peace. Every man that officiates in a public capacity will be filled with the Spirit of God…” — Brigham Young, Great Salt Lake City, July 31, 1859
Jeremiah 31:31, 33 “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
How could all men be filled with the Spirit of God if Joe Smith declared God isn’t omnipresent?
Moreover, Brigham clearly contradicted himself, and the Bible. How can Mormons trust what he said if he can’t get his story straight? The Bible also tells us that God came here in the flesh – John 1:1, 14.
This has to be one of the worst things Mr. Young taught. It’s shocking they’ve named a university after the man. Continue to pray Mormons will see the contradictions in these things, and turn to the Lord instead of the lies! This is truly one of the things that draws people away from the Lord, not to Him.
It’s heartbreaking to see how they’re still buying into the lies. Not having the comfort of knowing God is inside of you is a sign you’re not a true believer which makes for a lonely life.

Brigham should have his Bible more thoroughly, especially Psalm 139:1-13). In that particular chapter of the Bible, the Lord tells us that He is with us everywhere and that there is not a thought or action we do that He is not aware of nd fully understands. Not only is God with each and everyone of us, we can’t escape his presence, even if we wanted to
Perhaps Old Brigham was hoping that God wasn’t always aware of his comings and goings.
You owe it to yourself to KNOW the One True God you are rejecting. And He is only found in the Bible.
“You can lead a saint to truth, but you can’t make him think”.
Richard Packham
I point out this issue, not because it is a problem for you and those who commented, but seems to be omnipresent in all human beings. The meaning of omnipresent is irrelevant and arguing over it’s meaning is a waste of time and damaging to your cause. It does not matter where you think God is.It only matters that those who do not have a relationship with him, seek for him and always do so because they will find him eventually. Those who claim that something or someone or somewhere is the only right place only discourages the seeker and keeps them from god. And Melissa, the real truth is: Only the path to god can be found in the Bible. Explain that truth to yourself, and you will not only be better at helping others find god. But your personal relationship with god will improve in ways you didn’t know were possible.
