General Conference, ‘Decisions for Eternity,’ October 2013 “…The aging process is also a gift from God, as is death. The eventual death of your mortal body is essential to God’s great plan of happiness.
When we master our appetites within the bounds of God’s laws, we can enjoy longer life, greater love, and consummate joy.
It is not surprising, then, that most temptations to stray from God’s plan of happiness come through the misuse of those essential, God-given appetites. Controlling our appetites is not always easy. … Sins are committed. …
We are “free to choose liberty and eternal life … or to choose captivity and death.” When we choose the loftier path toward liberty and eternal life, that path includes marriage. …
We know that Adam and Eve were married by God before they ever experienced the joy of uniting as husband and wife. …
In our day civil governments have a vested interest in protecting marriage …
Regardless of what civil legislation may be enacted, the doctrine of the Lord regarding marriage and morality cannot be changed. Remember: sin, even if legalized by man, is still sin in the eyes of God!…” — Russell Nelson
John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Not only was Mr. Nelson’s insight unbiblical, he also contradicted himself!
This is reminiscent of what happened in Eden. God intended for Adam and Eve to live forever, but they chose to sin. The chief job of the Mormon god is to confuse people!
If death is God’s ideal plan, why would anyone want to extend their life?
Where does the Bible say that marriage grants us eternal life?
His word says God has granted us eternal life through His Son! 1 John 5:11. Furthermore, Jesus told us that He is way, the truth, and the life in John 14:6, and no one goes to the Father but through Him.
That pretty much negates the need for any temple doors. Mr. Nelson is throwing rocks in a glass house. Their own canon convicts them of their own sin when they advocated the unlawful practice of polygamy.
Pray for the Mormon people to stop and think about the words this man continues to throw out there. He’s been a very busy false prophet.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
This is one I hadn’t previously heard. Absurd claim, and downright sad for those who believe it.
