January 7 — Mormons Pray to a God They Don’t Know. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11 “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”

Today’s LDS reference shows one of the ways the Church has deceived people. They sound Christian, but they’re not. They’re trying to worship the God of the Bible, but they don’t know Him, nor do they desire to do so. Furthermore, Joe Smith’s claim of going to the woods to pray was a trick to lure people into the snare of worshiping false gods.
Mr. Eyring’s talk has done the same thing Smith’s claim did. Mormons don’t study His word, nor do they have any intention of doing so. This is seen in how they incorporate other works of man. As God’s word says, they didn’t love the truth so they’ve become enamored by the likes of Joseph Smith and LDS Church leaders today.
Pray for Mormons to ditch the Church manuals, and stick to what our Lord has said!

“Joseph Smith’s mission was unique, yet his humble prayer can be a helpful model for us. … We can and must go often and carefully to the word of God. If we become casual in our study of the scriptures, we will become casual in our prayers. We may not cease to pray, but our prayers will become more repetitive, more mechanical, lacking real intent.
Our hearts cannot be drawn out to a God we do not know, and the scriptures and the words of living prophets help us know Him. As we know Him better, we love Him more.” — Henry B. Eyring, Ensign, “Prayer,” Nov. 2001, 17
“Not every one that saith to me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful things? And I will profess to them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
The Mormons don’t know the true God and his Son Jesus Christ, because they have rejected God’s Words (Bible). In John 5:39, the Lord tells us to “Search the Scriptures, for in them ye have eternal life, for they are they which testify of me.”.
The God and Son (Jesus Christ), that the Mormons know, is the God of the Book of Mormon and Joe Smith;’s own Doctrines and Covenants. These are the scriptures that Mormons are encouraged to read. The Mormon church lays doubt to the Bible by claiming it is flawed (Article 8 of Articles of Faith). Mormons believe the words of Mormon prophets more than they do the Words of God.
