February 26 – Bloodline of Joseph and Jesus. “Neither give heed to fables or endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.” 1 Tim. 1:4.

Ask the Mormon if Joseph Smith had absolute proof he truly was related to Jesus Christ and if so, what good does it do him? What purpose does it serve to even mention something like this? Would it mean that he had a ticket to heaven because of it? Or is Smith implying the Bible is referring to Smith and he is root of Jesse? You’ll see in other LDS literature where this is indeed the case, unfortunately.

D&C 113:5-6 “What is the root of Jesse spoken of in the 10th verse of the 11th chapter (Isaiah). Behold, thus saith the Lord, it is a descendant of Jesse, as well as of Joseph, unto whom rightly belongs the priesthood, and the keys of the kingdom, for an ensign, and for the gathering of my people in the last days”.
Joe was never special as he demanded his followers to think of him as; “If anyone is confident that they belong to Christ, they should consider again, that we all belong to Christ, just as much as they do,” (2 Corinthians 10:7)
Mormons believe that Joe was a directly related (genealogy wise) to Jesus? Why, because Joe said so?
In reality, we are all related to Christ as being members of his body: “So in Christ Jesus, you are all children of God through faith. There is neither neither Jew, gentile, either slave nor free, male or female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:26)
