Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not. 2 Corinthians 4:1
While everything around us has changed in the blink of an eye, so has the Church’s schedule!
They announced an immediate change to their General Conference for April 2020. As of right now the only way to see the Conference is on a television screen. The change, of course, stems from the Corona Virus (COVID-19).
In an effort to help prevent spreading the disease, this also means there will be no gatherings at Stake Centers, or wards, to watch the conference.
Furthermore, senior missionaries, and young missionaries with underlying health issues in the 22 missions across Europe, will all be returning home immediately. All MTC’s (Missionary Training Centers) for those missions will be held virtually.
For specific info on other changes see link above.
The recent health concerns has changed life for everyone across the globe.
Our immediate concern is of course for everyone to stay healthy, and follow guidelines provided by government officials.
Please know we’re praying for all of you, and pray you stay well!
As for the spiritual well being of LDS members, this is a stark reminder that knowing Jesus is of the utmost importance. Those guidelines can be found in a Bible, and we pray each day members will turn to Him, and not leaders who claim they’re the only spokesman for God.
We’ll post our summaries of their talks when they’re made available! The conference is scheduled for April 4th – 5th.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
Question, can non members attend General Conference, to learn about the “restored gospel”?
Every year in August, at Angel’s Stadium, there is what’s called “The Harvest Crusade”. And the idea is for Christians to bring unsaved family and friends, to share the Gospel message. Otherwise, they’d be preaching to the choir so to speak.
Hey there Melissa!
Yes, non-members are allowed in at General Conferences. However…and there’s always one of those… you need to secure tickets thru the local bishop, and/or stake president. They’re allotted a certain # and when they run out, they run out. Attendance is free. There are standby lines but they start lining up a few hrs before the mtg.
