April 14 — Have You Been Overcome? John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
_____
We pray that if you’ve been overcome, it’s with the peace of Christ Jesus! This world has many obstacles, and especially right now in the midst of a worldwide pandemic in 2020. Hold tight to Him who came to set us free beloved!
Tragically, too many have fallen for the trickery of Joseph Smith and company who claimed Jesus didn’t overcome anything. Believing their lies gave a perfect foothold for thinking Jesus lied, and brings more pressure than what any pandemic could ever do to mankind. An example of this is found in what Brigham Young told members at a conference in Idaho – his words still hold true for them even today. See Blessings Come with Conditions.

Journal of Discourses 16:162 “Every blessing the Lord proffers to his people is on conditions. These conditions are: Obey my law, keep my commandments, walk in my ordinances, observe my statutes, love mercy,… keep yourselves pure in the law, and then you are entitled to these blessings, and not until then.” Brigham Young, Paris, Idaho, August 31, 1873
B. Young said to be pure in the law as he scrambled to find more and more wives. What law was he being purified in at that point? My understanding of the WORD is one’s life should reflect what one believes. B. Y. said a lot of things but his actions screamed his true beliefs. I shake my head in shame that I was so easily led astray and I praise the Lord that HE freed me from that same lie.
“”You will not fear the terror at night nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the PESTILENCE THAT SALKS in the darkness, nor the PLAGUE that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your right side, ten thousand at your left, but it will not come near you
For he has sent his angels concerning you, to guard you in ll your ways. Because he loves me,says the Lord, I will rescue him.” (Psalms 91:5-7, 11)
The Old Sarge is giving you a direct order: Keep the faith and God will keep you.
