April 19 — Spurning God for an Unknown. Genesis 2:17 “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

The first commandment God issued to man was tossed for the proverbial ‘what if’. Adam’s open rebellion is still playing itself out today. We see this in the Book of Mormon; the LDS beloved canon where they’ve blindly accepted a made up story in lieu of what God had already proven true. God never said there must be opposition as it claims in 2 Nephi 2:11. On the contrary, the Lord gave a commandment to obey, not disobey!

Ensign, ‘All Things Work Together for Good’, May 2010, 101 “We are taught in the scriptures that there ‘must needs be . . . an opposition in all things’ (2 Nephi 2:11). We will each face times of difficulty, and the question is not when we will face them but how we face them.” — James B. Martino
