Psalm 51:2 “Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.”
Hosanna and Hallelujah—The Living Jesus Christ: The Heart of Restoration and Easter “Let us also briefly recall what Passover signifies. … The final plague threatened the death of the firstborn in the land but not in the house of Israel if—if those households put the blood of an unblemished firstling lamb on the lintels of their doors…The angel of death passed by the houses marked with the symbolic blood of the lamb. That passing by, or pass over, represents Jesus Christ ultimately overcoming death. Indeed, the atoning blood of the Lamb of God gives our Good Shepherd power to gather His people in all places and circumstances into the safety of His fold on both sides of the veil.” — Gerrit Gong [emp. added]
I John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
The lies in this man’s long winded definition of Passover could be refuted for a month of Sundays. However, for the sake of brevity, today we’re simply taking a cursory glance at the obvious.
Scripture tells us the true definition in the following passages. The OT describes the event of Passover, and the NT passage reveals how Jesus is the fulfillment of being the Lamb that was slain.
Exodus 12:13 “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.”
Colossians 1:13-14 “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”
Mr. Gong’s explanation gave us the result Jesus’ sacrifice, not the reason for it! Once again the Church went out of its way to hide the truth of what we must do to be saved. They ignore the fact man has a sinful nature in need of redemption.
If Mormonism truly believed Jesus is the heart of Easter, they’d give a better explanation of why. Furthermore, they wouldn’t falsely declare that Jesus will save you after death!
Be sure to share these valuable verses with the Mormon in your life!
