May 22 — Mormons Reject Jesus’ New Covenant. Hebrews 8:6 “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.”

The original priesthood, patterned after that of Melchizedek, was eternally fulfilled through one person; Jesus Christ. His death for the sins of man brought an end to the necessity of future sacrifices.
Furthermore, the Bible gives no indication of Jesus handing over His position, nor will He share His glory with another. His gift to us transcends anything we’ll ever know!
In our LDS reference today, we see the teachings of a false apostle. It’s sad, but not surprising, how the words of Mr. Oaks sound like a dossier in a courtroom setting. Unfortunately, he didn’t use skills from his background as a judge to consider Jesus’ side of the truth.
The quote below is merely the opening statement from Mr. Oaks’ very long talk at General Conference. We’ll be looking at more of what he said in the near future!

General Conference, ‘The Melchizedek Priesthood and the Keys’ April 2020 “The priesthood is a divine power and authority held in trust to be used for God’s work for the benefit of all of His children.” — Dallin Oaks
