The latest edition of the LDS Liahona was another example of how the Church tricks its members. Today we’re looking at a few of the things they listed in their article, ‘He is the Way’. To read it in full, see Liahona, ‘Poster, He is the Way’, August 2020.
The purpose of their article was to provide a list of different roles Jesus filled in His lifetime. Mind you, it’s not anything remotely close to the truth, hence, our look at this today. We’ve listed a few of the things they said, followed by what they’ve taught in the past, along with what God says in His word.
Saving You Is the Plan…
Before we were born, Heavenly Father presented a plan for us to become like Him. Within that plan, the roles of Jesus Christ make our eternal growth possible. Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).
This is absolutely false according to Mormon theology! See our list of what they’ve said at Follow the Prophet. Bruce McConkie stated there is no salvation without their prophets. How can Jesus be the way, if the prophets are the way?
Chosen
…Jesus was chosen “from the beginning” (Moses 4:2) to be our Savior. …
Again, Jesus wasn’t chosen at all! Jesus is God! John 1:1, 14.
Creator
Under the direction of His Father, Jesus Christ created this beautiful earth for us. … (John 1:3).
Mormons don’t believe that Jesus, nor God for that matter, created the earth. They believe they ‘organized’ the elements. See 3,000 Reasons to Leave Mormonism under creator.
Exemplar
…He “took upon him the form of a servant” and “humbled himself” (Philippians 2:7–8) so He could understand how to help us in our own mortal journey. … [emp. added
Jesus became man to be an example for us here on earth. He didn’t do it for Himself, nor to advance Himself. It was for us, not Him!
Judge
Because of His Atonement, Jesus Christ understands us perfectly and will serve as our judge. … We will be judged by what we have done and by what we have become. … [emp. added]
Because of Jesus’ atonement, we can be cleansed from sin. He paid the price for what we could never do. He didn’t do it so He could understand us! Jesus is God incarnate, which means He’s omniscient!
Advocate
…Because Jesus is the Mediator between us and God, we have the chance to receive eternal life.” [emp. added]
And there my friends, is the whole story. The Church has lied by telling people they have a chance at salvation. The reality is that we can have confidence in knowing we’re saved when we believe He’s the Redeemer. They’ve given their people a laundry list of must-do’s, and then told them they might get saved.
Shame on the Church! Ask the Mormon you know what they think of the latest Liahona article, and be sure to share scripture with them! Moreover, using the term ‘saving you is the plan’ is not part of the normal Mormon vernacular. This was inserted to sound Christian, when in fact, they know they’re not.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
