3 Nephi 8:1 “And now it came to pass that according to our record, and we know our record to be true, for behold, it was a just man who did keep the record—for he truly did many miracles in the name of Jesus; and there was not any man who could do a miracle in the name of Jesus save he were cleansed every whit from his iniquity.”
Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one”.
Acts 5:12 “And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.”
Nephi was apparently the only person who met the requirements of being sinless so miracles could be performed. In 3 Nephi 19:4 it says he raised his brother from the dead.
Meanwhile… on the other side of the world, numerous miracles were performed by the Lord’s apostles. You can read a great article about this at Christian Courier.com.
Share with a Mormon why the rules don’t change, just as God doesn’t change. None of the apostles in Jerusalem were sinless! Another great read I HIGHLY recommend is ‘The Search for the Twelve Apostles’ by Wm. Steuert McBernie. I read this book right after I got saved, and it confirmed to me what I had always thought as a Mormon. Each apostle with the exception of John, had died.
With Love in Christ;
