‘Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.’ Galatians 6:7
A few days ago, we posted an article about the Church claiming why it’s necessary to attend meetings.
The LDS article we looked at told members the only way they could receive guidance was through obedience by renewing their covenants in both Sacrament Meetings and the temple.
With that aside, yesterday I came across a Church News article reporting on one of the ways COVID has changed the way the Church operates.
BYU is now using Zoom to broadcast virtual FHE’s (Family Home Evenings) from the Joseph F. Smith Building which is where their church history museum is located.
From what their article said it looks as if it’s an online meeting of sharing feel-good stories of how much they love the Church. Sadly, it’s not much different than what their Sacrament Meetings entail.
The thing that caught my attention about this is what part of the Church News article said.
It looks as if the Church’s weekly posts coming out of BYU has a Q&A section and this week’s quiz was another display of why members of the Church should run away from their leaders as fast as they can.
They posted 3 questions they’ve dubbed ‘Temple Tidbits’ which asks members if they know the information about their items listed. To read their article in full see BYU Virtual Family Home Evening Gallery Education Zion.
Here in part is what it said…
“Think you know your latter-day temple facts and figures? Have a shot at these questions:
Which temple was the first to have an angel placed on top?
Which temple was the first to present ordinances in a language other than English?
Which temple has a piece of Disney animation from the film “Pinocchio” in its cornerstone? …
…And for any who missed Monday’s FHE gathering and are stumped by the “Temple Tidbit” quiz questions: A – Nauvoo. B – Mesa Arizona. C – Orlando Florida.”
I’ve seen and read a lot of things regarding Mormonism in my day and whenever I think the shock value has worn itself off, I’m surprised yet again.
I don’t rightly care what the moral to the story is about Pinocchio, but I do care about the spiritual well-being of the Mormon people.
Of all the things to put in a cornerstone of a so-called holy building, this wouldn’t have been on the radar for me.
If this is all that members have to look forward to, we pray they look elsewhere. Shame on them!
With Love in Christ –—

I don’t know Michelle… maybe Pinocchio is at their cornerstone, because it’s certainly not Jesus. And we know Pinocchio had a habit of lying.
This is just too funny!!!
