Articles of Faith, p. 122 “What symbol more expressive of a cleansing from sin could be given than that of baptism in water?” — James Talmage
1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
In response to the LDS reference above we’re wondering…
Where is the symbol of the cleansing blood Jesus spilt?
Where is the cross?
A good biblical reference for cleansing with water is found in Ephesians 5:26 where it reminds us that Jesus cleanses His church through washing it with His word –
“That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word”.
Unfortunately, Mormonism has rejected His precious word so the meaning of being baptized with the Bible remains unheard of for most LDS members.
Please, don’t forget to pray for Jesus to intervene so Mormons will have a saving knowledge of Jesus and Him crucified!
With Love in Christ –—
Michelle
