Doctrine and Covenants 132:4, 34 “For behold, I reveal unto you a new and an everlasting covenant; and if ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory. 34 God commanded Abraham, and Sarah gave Hagar to Abraham to wife. And why did she do it? Because this was the law; and from Hagar sprang many people. This, therefore, was fulfilling, among other things, the promises.”
Isaiah 42:6 “…I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles”.
Matthew 26:28 “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
Isaiah was written between BC 739 and 681.
We’re wondering…
If the Lord promised His people there would be a future person who would fulfill the role of a covenant, why did Joe Smith believe sex was the new covenant?
The wording in Isaiah is clear by using the terms thee and thine. How can polygamy fulfill this role when Isaiah is referring to a person?
If polygamy fulfilled the new covenant, why isn’t the Church today obeying the Lord instead of the US government?
In a loving manner, show your friends/loved ones how Jesus alone fulfilled scripture, and Joseph Smith did not!

Joe played a new game of Twister everyday…liar! Correct me if I’m wrong, please, but didn’t he ‘receive’ the polygamy revelation after it was discovered he had more than one wife? Didn’t he select the men who could practice it? Seems I read that somewhere but I want to be clear before I address this with a ‘no-longer-called-mormon-b/c the current prophet threw a previous prophet under the bus with his ‘I am a Mormon’ campaign.
Ah but wait there’s more to come! 😉 The post tomorrow is already scheduled and we’re addressing this ‘issue’. 🙂
Just remember, as I point out to Mormons, that the D&C still carries the RULE that one must practice polygamy to be saved. I ask, if it was really a revelation from God to be a commandment, then why did the LDS buckle to man’s laws?
