Doctrine and Covenants 132 Intro “Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Nauvoo, Illinois, recorded July 12, 1843, relating to the new and everlasting covenant, including the eternity of the marriage covenant and the principle of plural marriage. Although the revelation was recorded in 1843, evidence indicates that some of the principles involved in this revelation were known by the Prophet as early as 1831. See Official Declaration 1.”
Psalm 40:9-10 “I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest. 10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.”
Luke 4:16-21 “And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
FYI: Psalm 40 was written c. BC 949 – see Biblehub.com for more info. As a side note, the biblical passage above has always stopped me in my tracks. It has to be one of the most profound events in all the Bible (in my humble opinion).
Today like yesterday, we see how Joseph Smith tried to rewrite God’s word to make excuses for his sinful lifestyle with no regard for God’s promise of His Son a thousand years earlier.
If he had any respect for the Lord, it would’ve been evident in his track record.
We’re wondering…
Who would change the meaning of what God had proclaimed if they truly loved Jesus?
Where in the Bible is there any reference to polygamy being the New and Everlasting Covenant?
If you’re LDS, what does this say to you about Joseph Smith?
Whom do you believe? Is it the Lord, or Joseph Smith?
Why did Joseph Smith hide his behavior if it was from God?
Please know that if you’re a member of the Church I don’t say these things out of animosity, nor am I trying to embarrass you.

Thank you for all you do. I pray everyday for those lost ‘saints’ to see. Knowing the biblical Jesus and loving Him (in Christ alone)=salvation.
You’re most welcome Miss Sandra!\ I’m a living example of those who prayed for years I would come to know the Lord. I’m convinced Jesus hears us!
Tomorrow’s post is a reminder of Mr. Smith’s focus and timeline of what he was doing the last decade or so of his life. It’s a sad picture of what can happen when someone turns their life over to evil. 🙁 I am praying for you and your family as well as my own, and ALL Mormons! 🙂
