“We love him, because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
General Conference, ‘Free Forever, to Act for Themselves’, October 2014 “Truly God loves us, and because He loves us, he neither compels or abandons us. Rather, he helps us and guides us. Indeed, the real manifestation of God’s love is His commandments.” — D. Todd Christofferson
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
Mr. Christofferson couldn’t be more wrong. The real manifestation of God’s love for us is seen in His Son hanging on a tree at Calvary to do what we never could.
We can’t make or do enough, to fulfill the 613 law requirements each and every day. Let me ask you this – did you do this today? What about yesterday? How about last month, or last year? Have you ever done so?
I know I haven’t come close.
Dear Mormon friends, please, consider the scenario. Why would God allow His Son Jesus to die if we still had to fulfill the Law? While on the cross Jesus proclaimed, ‘It is Finished!’ which meant the work was complete — John 19:30.
Either Jesus is your Savior in full, or He’s not. One more thing…don’t forget the first verse listed at the top of this article!

I remember after leaving mormonism and being saved years later, I learned that I was a sinner. Somehow I always thought I was a pretty good person. After all, I was chosen before I was born to be a member of the ‘only true church’ on the face of the earth. That was the moment I loved the Savior for the first time because He saved a wretch like me by His death on a cross…not by one ‘good’ thing I ever did.
Beautiful! Isn’t it just the way of the Lord to keep us at His side as we grow in Him? PTL!!!
