October 10 –– Choosing the Right Role Model. John 13:15 “For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.”
_____
Today our question is this: What’s wrong with choosing say, Jesus, as a role model? Why would an aspiring prophet of God point to Eve, of all people, to be the role model for LDS women? If you’re looking for a female role model, what about Naomi, or maybe her daughter-in-law, Ruth? Let’s not forget Elisabeth, not to mention her cousin, Mary!
Besides all that, the true doctrine of the Mormon Jesus can’t be found in the watered-down version of today’s Mormonism. This can only be found in the original Mormon Church that believed the only true salvation is being a polygamous wife. D&C 132:4-6, 61-64. Ask the Mormon you know what qualities, or attributes of Eve are worthy of emulating.

“Attacks against the Church, its doctrine, and our way of life are going to increase. Because of this, we need women who have a bedrock understanding of the doctrine of Christ and who will use that understanding to teach and help raise a sin-resistant generation. We need women who can detect deception in all of its forms. We need women who know how to access the power that God makes available to covenant keepers and who express their beliefs with confidence and charity. We need women who have the courage and vision of our Mother Eve.” — Russell M. Nelson, “A Plea to My Sisters”
