General Conference, ‘For God So Loved Us’, April 2022 “God sent Jesus Christ because He loves His children and designed a plan for each of them to return home to Him. This plan is personal and was set forth by a loving Heavenly Father, “who knows our hearts, our names and what He needs us to do.” …
Heavenly Father’s personalized plan includes helping others return to Him because “that is how we become like Jesus Christ.” — Michael T. Ringwood
Psalm 50:10-12 “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. 11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. 12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.” [emp. added]
Ps146:8 “The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous”.
Although there are numerous topics, we could look at in the LDS excerpt above today we’re looking at just one thing; God needs our help.
Of course, true believers know the God of the Bible doesn’t need help with anything! The two bible verses above are a small sampling of who does what when it comes to man’s salvation. The Church’s retention problem is front and center in many of their talks.
Our job as Christians is to plant seeds and our Mighty God does the rest! You can read two great articles about this at GotQuestions.org and TheGospelCoalition.org.
The only things Mr. Ringwood planted were lies that lead people away from the Lord not to Him.
If the god you worship needs your help you’ll never get saved!
Please pray for these dear people. I know that my mother listened to this conference so please pray for her as well.
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
[…] Conference Quote: God Needs Help Bringing Members Back […]
There is a biblical dimension in this personalized plan by which we become like Jesus in Michael Ringwood’s conference talk April 2022 that is missed.
A misunderstanding that is highly unbiblical, is that you can legalize what the Holy Spirit does through temple ordinances. Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to those who trust and believe in his name and seals them until the day of redemption.
‘In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.’ Ephesians 1:12-14
2 Corinthians 1:21-22 reinforces this teaching: ‘Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.’
The work of the Holy Spirit is not to be confused with a system that discredits or assumes the role of the function of the Holy Ghost.
