Journal of Discourses 3:125 “The principle of plurality of wives never will be done away although some sisters have had revelations that, when this time passes away and they go through the veil, every woman will have a husband to herself.” — Heber Chase Kimball, Delivered in the Bowery, Great Salt Lake City, October 6, 1855.
Jeremiah 14:14 “Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.”
Some might argue Mr. Kimball’s statement still holds true with LDS men being sealed to other women if/when they become single. The Lord, however, has repeatedly told us in His word there’s no such thing as the ‘families are forever’ plan.
Here are two reasons why Kimball’s statement is false –
1.God said He is the only God there is which makes it impossible to become a god.
Isaiah 43:10-11 “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.”
2.Jesus said there are no marriages in heaven.
Mark 12:20-25 “Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. 21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise. 22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also. 23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife. 24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.”
Be sure to share with a Mormon the reasons why the Church is still wrong even after all these years.
Lastly beloved, remind the Mormon you know of what it says in the Psalms…
‘Whom have I in heaven but thee?’ Psalm 73:25
