August 28 – 1 BoM Verse Contradicts 3 LDS Beliefs. John 1:3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.”
_____
There are three contradictions in our Mormon reference today.
1.Satan didn’t ‘prepare’ hell. God did that as a place to put Satan and his followers. Furthermore, Mosiah 5:15 states that God created all things.
2.Mormons don’t believe in a literal hell. See Joseph Smith-Seeker After Truth, pp.177-178.
3.There are 3 levels in the Mormon heaven; Celestial Kingdom, Terrestrial Kingdom, and the Telestial Kingdom. 1st Nephi said it was either heaven or hell and didn’t say anything about the different levels of heaven.
It’s easy to see why doctrines of Mormonism are confusing to all Mormons. Ask the Mormon you know what they think of all these contradictions!
_____
1 Nephi 15:35 “And there is a place prepared, yea, even that awful hell of which I have spoken, and the devil is the preparator of it; wherefore the final state of the souls of men is to dwell in the kingdom of God, or to be cast out because of that justice of which I have spoken.”
1. Did not the rebellion of Lucifer precipitate the necessity of the place we call hell? And if so, did not his action in fact cause the preparation of it?
2. Hell as translated in the bible is most frequently from the word meaning the grave, and is the grave not the place of the dead? Death is the wage of sin not eternal torment as most “Christians” believe “The wages of sin are death…” but then who am I to contradict scripture.
3. Learn to crawl before you learn to walk… even Paul talked about “There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.” {1 Cor 15:40}
4. Mormon doctrines are not ” confusing to all Mormons,” they are only confusing to the ones that do not care to understand the scriptures and people who listen to the way people like you twist and pervert the doctrines.
Thank you for commenting Rev James,
Contradictions are confusing to all, that’s why they’re called contradictions. Now some members won’t admit the contradictions or don’t care, and just accept the answers the leaders tell them. But that doesn’t change the fact there might a contradiction.
Now, I assure you the author hasn’t twisted or perverted the doctrine. The LDS church leaders have done an excellent job of that. The author is merely pointing them out.
Please be specific as to what doctrines she has twisted. And please use references like she did.
Thanks again
