September 11 — Goals of a Saint. ‘He must increase but I must decrease.’ John 3:30
_____
Do my goals match His? This is the question a true saint must always ask of him/herself. While gathering info for today’s post I noticed Oswald Chambers’ devotional for today fit our topic. Here’s what he said –
“The things that Jesus did were of the most menial and commonplace order, and this is an indication that it takes all God’s power in me to do the most commonplace things in His way. Can I use a towel as He did? Towels and dishes and sandals, all the ordinary sordid things of our lives, reveal more quickly than anything what we are made of. It takes God Almighty Incarnate in us to do the meanest duty as it ought to be done.” — Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest
Sadly, Mormons have been tricked into believing they can become gods themselves someday. There’s no such thing as becoming a menial laborer for Christ, yet at the same time their version of the gospel plagiarized God telling them Satan fell for believing the same thing.
This isn’t the menial work of a true believer, rather, it’s the work of deceit drawing us away from our God, Christ Jesus. Be sure to pray for Jesus to remove the lies from their heart!
Isaiah 14:12-14 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”
