September 7 — God’s Provision. Hebrews 1:1-2 “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds”.

Think back to the time when you first realized God was speaking to you personally through His word. I pray this memory is what drives you each day as you live your life with Jesus. For me it happened as a young girl in Utah.
When I realized He was speaking to me, I held tight to His words whenever contradictory LDS doctrines were presented as I was growing up in Utah Mormonism. I didn’t always comprehend the full extent of what Jesus said, but it was enough to capture my attention, and I held on tight.
I pray you’ll know that if God would do this for me, He’ll do it for you too! I knew no other Christians at the time, yet God reached down and spoke to me personally. Be sure you share your experience of how God spoke to you with a Mormon you know!
The LDS reference today has members looking everywhere but His word for direction. Unfortunately, they have the truth in their hands today if they’d only open their Bibles.

Prophets Speak by the Power of the Holy Spirit “Brothers and sisters, I want to testify to you that President Russell M. Nelson is the prophet of God on earth. I have never seen anyone more kind and loving than he is. Though I felt so inadequate for this sacred call, his words and the tender look in his eyes as he extended this responsibility made me feel embraced by the Savior’s love. Thank you, President Nelson. I sustain you and I love you.
Isn’t it a blessing to have prophets, seers, and revelators on earth in these days in which we live, who seek to know the will of the Lord and follow it? It is comforting to know that we are not alone in the world, despite the challenges we face in life. Having prophets is a sign of God’s love for His children. They make known the promises and the true nature of God and of Jesus Christ to Their people. I have learned that through my personal experiences.” — Ulisses Soares
Your testimony is amazing and so beautiful. He spoke (and speaks) through His Word. I just read the above verse again a couple of days ago and wonder if you know how the mormon church explains it away…..no more prophets. I didn’t pay attention to that verse while I was a mormon. But I do now: He speaks through His Son and His completed work on the cross. Saying someone has tender eyes is missing the point and erasing the Savior’s sacrifice. Sadness for my daughter who has said, “I don’t care if you could prove the church isn’t true. I love being mormon.”
Your words are always an encouragement! The comment from your daughter is why I’m still in ministry. My mother said something similar years ago…
I noticed she had been reading her BoM for 15-20 minutes w/out turning a page. When I asked her what she read she told me ‘Oh I don’t know I just like the feeling it gives me when I hold it in my hands because it reminds me of my father’.
I didn’t know how to respond to that and I’m still at a loss. My grief is much like many others like yourself w/ loved ones ensnared in the massive lies.
As I said though, the Lord can and will speak to anyone – you and I are living proof! 🙂

I liked your thought about thinking back to a time when God spoke to you through his word as you ‘live your life with Jesus.’ The holy bible (especially the letters) drive me every day. I wish it would drive my family and friends.
His presence is seen everywhere and is always a most welcome refuge! PTL!
