Isaiah was a prophet. He lived before Jesus Christ was born. But he knew Jesus would come.
Isaiah said Jesus would be born as the Son of God. Jesus would help and heal others.
Isaiah also said Jesus would come to earth. He would be called the Prince of Peace. He would give His life for us because He loves us so much.
I can learn about Jesus Christ. When I remember what He has done for me, I can feel peace and hope!

There are many topics in Mormonism that capture my attention but at the top of the list is the cross. With that in mind I was saddened after reading the latest edition of Friend Magazine and saw the sacrilegious lies, they pawn off as truth. It’s bad enough they lie about the Lord but it’s exponentially worse when they do it to children.
The Church decided to tell their target audience of 12–18-year-old kids that Isaiah taught people about Jesus. As we all know Isaiah did prophesy about a coming Savior however, he never used Jesus’ name. Isaiah’s prophecies took place c. BC 739-725.
Today we’re looking at what they said to compare it with God’s word. The bible passages they used in the lesson are very misleading and here’s a few reasons why –
1.Their lesson said ‘He would give His life for us’ but this is a lie.
D&C 19:18 says the Mormon Jesus spilt his blood at Gethsemane. Jesus died on the cross but not for their sins. The Bible says He died on the cross to redeem us in Galatians 3:13.
2.Isaiah 7:14 says a virgin will conceive and bear a son. Mary couldn’t have been a virgin because they teach God had sex with Mary to beget Jesus. See Comparison of Jesus’ Birth: LDS v. Bible for statements made by LDS leaders declaring God had sex with Mary.
3.Isaiah 9:6 says the coming child will be God. Mormons don’t believe Jesus is God rather they believe He is a god. See Jesus Became Christ, Shed Blood of a God for more info.
4.Lastly beloved, an image in their article showed two women attending to Jesus after His death with three crosses in the background. This is the third time we’ve written on how they implement crosses in articles for their youth group. The other two examples are from 2014 and 2020.
We can’t help but think their motives are another ruse to confuse considering how they’ve gone out of their way in the past to reject the cross.
Please, don’t forget to pray for those who read their lies and for Jesus to intervene!
