September 21 – Mormons Disobey Their Own Rules. 1 Corinthians 13:6-7 “Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Truth. If you’re LDS, do you know what it means? The 13th AoF sounds good, right? To the unknowing, it’s awesome, but here’s the reality.
The Church combined two letters from Paul into one. They then took their hybrid of ‘new’ philosophies, and implanted into a portion of their declaration of fundamental beliefs.
There are major problems with what they did and we’ll look at two of those here.
1.It’s plagiarism.
2.It’s untrue.
According to their own words in the 8th AoF, they don’t believe the Bible has been translated correctly. See our post about this on September 16th. How do they know if the words of Paul have been translated correctly? Why are they plagiarizing God when they don’t trust what He’s said?
Here in part is how dictionary.com defines truth: ‘conformity with fact or reality; verity. a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like. honesty; integrity…’
As a quick review, the Church proclaimed they believe in being honest. Is their work an honest representation of what they really believe? Is it something that can be trusted? How do we know for sure if their statement is true?
Paul also wrote a letter to the Thessalonians and told them to shun the very appearance of evil. Has the Church done this? 1 Thessalonians 5:22

Articles of Faith 1:13 “We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.”

I don’t understand. How exactly do Mormons not follow their own rules? When has the Church said they don’t believe in the Bible?
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for your comment. I think the author was very clear…the 8th article of faith from a Christian point of view is a bit telling. It’s a big red flag. It’s only the adversary that wants to turn our attention away from the Bible.
You can read about here. There are many articles off to the right side by clicking on “Bible is reliable scripture database”. Please let us know what you think.
