January 7 – Abraham. Who was he and does it matter? We find a great answer to this in Genesis 12:1-2. This passage sets into motion the foundational basis of every believer’s life! Ask yourself: are you willing to do as Abraham did? “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing”.

Share the truth about Abraham with a Mormon today! I hadn’t heard about him in the biblical sense until after my salvation. One day my daughter Jacquelyn was all of five years old, and brought her Bible to me to share the story of Abraham she had learned about in Sunday school earlier that day. It was the first time I had heard the truth. Tears ran down my face as she shared her exciting news. I was thrilled for her receiving the truth at such a young age, and sad that I had been worshiping a false god for so long. Here’s some of what Mormons believe about Abraham…

Encyclopedia of Mormonism, p. 8 “…Abraham visited Joseph Smith (JD 20:174-75; 21:94), whose mission included revealing lost knowledge about Abraham (cf. 2 Ne. 3:7, 12) and whose entire ministry of restoration helped fulfill Abraham’s covenant that through his seed all nations would be blessed (2 Ne. 29:14; 3 Ne. 20:27, 29).”

If you believe Abraham visited Smith, then I have a bridge I’ll sell you!
It’s beyond heartbreaking isn’t it?!
