March 17 — Calvary Rejected For Joseph Smith’s Lies. Genesis 22:2, 14 “And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. 14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.”
Luke 23:33 “And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.”
D&C 19:18-19 “Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men.””
Numerous lessons are to be learned concerning events that took place at Mt. Moriah and Calvary. Not only did Solomon build the temple on the very spot where Abraham made his offering of Isaac, God gave His only Son as a sacrifice for the sins of man on Mt. Moriah which in the NT was called Calvary.
2 Chronicles 3:1 “Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.”
Another parallel is seen where Abraham carried the wood to sacrifice Isaac (Gen. 22:5-6) and Jesus carried His own cross (John 19:17).
Needless to say, there are many other things to learn about these events and tragically members of the Church are carted off into a world of lies without knowing the truth.
Be sure to share the truth with a Mormon you know and in a loving manner ask how Joe Smith’s false teaching fulfilled scripture. The other problem with Smith’s teaching is the statement of Jesus declaring he’s God. This is something Mormons do not believe.
