October 14 – Question Mormonism by Testing All Things. 1 John 4:1 “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

For years the LDS Church has warned members one of their greatest foes is questioning the powers that be. Reminders they can qualify for the Holy Ghost by not questioning is a theme reiterated time and again at conferences. This theory is completely opposite of what our Lord has instructed us to do! We should question information by comparing it with God’s word. Sadly, the Church has also told them not to trust the Bible as well in Articles of Faith 1:8. Show the Mormon how God has instructed us to test all things!

“My dear brothers and sisters, if you ever come across anything that causes you to question your testimony of the gospel, I plead with you to look up. Look to the Source of all wisdom and truth. Nourish your faith and testimony with the word of God. There are those in the world who seek to undermine your faith by mixing lies with half-truths. This is why it is absolutely critical that you remain constantly worthy of the Spirit. The companionship of the Holy Ghost is not just a pleasant convenience—it is essential to your spiritual survival. If you will not treasure up the words of Christ and listen closely to the promptings of the Spirit, you will be deceived (see Joseph Smith—Matthew 1:37). We must do these things.” — Elder Adrián Ochoa, “Look Up”

[…] Question Mormonism by Testing All Things […]
When I went to leadership with questions about problems I saw with LDS teachings, they just said to trust my faith and quit reading “Gentile” rubbish. If I pointed out something the Bible said, I’d be told either translation wasn’t correct or I didn’t understand it properly. I call that getting “blown off” and the more it happened the more I dug into things to the point of quitting the LDS.
