General Conference, ‘The Powerful, Virtuous Cycle of the Doctrine of Christ’, April 2024 “Faith in Jesus Christ must be nourished daily through prayer, scripture study, repentance and following the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Honoring covenants helps individuals create a conduit to receive God’s power in their lives. Help others without judging them for their actions. Everyone is struggling, and no one earns salvation. Everyone needs all of the Savior’s infinite Atonement.” — Dale G. Renlund
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Oh, be still my heart! What this man said is a lie through and through.
What’s so tragic about his talk is that he knew it was a lie and so do all the members of the Church.
The theme of this entire conference was making sure you’re worthy to go to the temple and there’s no way anyone could go to the temple without works. Please pray for this man and all Mormons who believe his lies!
With Love in Christ —

The Ephesians quote you shared literally says “by grace you are saved…- it is a GIFT of god. NOT OF WORKS lest any man boast”
Which I take to mean: By GRACE you are GIVEN this GIFT of salvation from God, NOT ACCORDING TO YOUR WORKS otherwise each man could boast that they earned salvation according to their works.
While yes- faith without works is dead.. that means that if you believe but don’t practice what you preach – you’re not actually doing it right.
Salvation is a gift given through grace to all of us. This is not a lie. We do not EARN salvation through our works. Salvation is given to all of us through grace. Works just prove that we meant it. But all will be resurrected in Christ thanks to his endless Mercy. Regardless of whether our works were good or not. Forgiveness is available to all- regardless of works.
