January 17 — Where are the Gold Plates? Mormon Doctrine, p. 234 “Moroni deposited the plates in the Hill Cumorah in about 421 A.D., and then as a resurrected being revealed the hiding place to the Prophet on September 22, 1823. Four years later the Prophet was permitted to obtain possession of them, but the actual translation of the portion we now have as the Book of Mormon did not take place until between April 7 and June 11, 1829. There’s not a shred of evidence these plates let alone the angel Moroni ever existed except in the mind of Joseph Smith.
Sadly, the Mormon people will never see those plates to prove the existence of their god or even the ancient inhabitants of Mesoamerica. Unlike all the archaeological evidence that have been unearthed showing the existence of cities and people from the bible, nothing has ever been found to back up the stories in the Book of Mormon – not even a pottery shard.
We’re praying each and every day the eyes of the Mormon people will be opened to receive the truth that’s already been presented to them in the Bible (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

Amen! I pray the same thing each time I wake in the morning and remember what it was like as a Mormon.
I pray that you wake up and realize how wrong you are. Not only wrong, engaged in deceptive tactics of using false dilemma, strawman arguments, and lack of holding yourself to the same standard and logic you are attempting to hold Latter-day Saints to. No wonder people like Timothy are taking you to task and exposing you for being liars and deceivers.
I don’t think any amount of “archaeological” evidence will convince you of the authenticity and truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. All I read here is the same arguments atheists use to deny God’s existence and the reality and authenticity of the Bible.
Not sure who Timothy is but nonetheless I pray each day for you and all members of the Church to do some research. I used to believe Joseph Smith’s story about Moroni.
Once I began doing some in-depth study of the BoM, I was left w/ no other choice but to leave the Church.
You can do your own method of study which I highly encourage.

And what if their research comes to a different conclusion than what you present or have come to? Does that make their findings and beliefs invalid? What if it is you who is wrong and in error and need to do better research?

There is no archaeological evidence of the truthfulness of the bom. 🙏🙏🙏🙏for you. All you need is the Bible, not the bom. The bom contradicts the Bible.Smith took some stuff from the Bible and left it that way and he changed some wording and it changed scriptures totally. And he made the rest up.
