‘…It is Finished…’ John 19:30
March 13 — LDS Know Jesus’ Birth and Death Dates. Journal of Discourses 13:127 “When we come to trace back all these authorities, we find that this very day, on which I am speaking, would be the close of the year, and that to-morrow, the 11th day of April, would be the anniversary of the very day on which Jesus was born; and the 6th day of April the very day on which he was crucified precisely eighteen hundred years prior to the organization of this Church.” — Orson Pratt, April 10, 1870.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

To be sure, no one knows the exact dates of when Jesus was born or died. Years ago I read a short blip arguing for the idea He died on April 6th but it’s not an exact science. I recommend GotQuestions.org who has a good outline detailing the death of our Lord.
What is known for sure is that Jesus was crucified on a Friday and resurrected three days later on Sunday.
It’s no coincidence the Church schedules the first of two General Conferences which lands on the first weekend of April every year.
We can’t help but wonder why they’d concern themselves over the dates when they openly admit they don’t worship the same Jesus we know about in the Bible.
My heart hurts for those who believe lies like the one Mr. Pratt told. I remember all too well listening to this type of montage while growing up in Utah Mormonism.
I know I keep harping on it but please pray for those who listen to lies like this and for them to open their bibles and a history book!
