We gathered a few of our ministry supporters, rolled up our sleeves and spent some pain-staking hours counting and marking all the Greek and Latin words we could find in the Book of Mormon.
And if that wasn’t exciting enough, (major eye-roll) we put all of our findings in a chart just so we could share it with the Mormons in our lives or the next missionary that shows up on the front doorstep. Woo-hoo!
With all sarcasm aside, I want to convey how this broke our hearts. While our task seems mundane, the truth is that Joseph Smith lied. He guaranteed there were no Greek or Latin words found on the golden plates of Mormonism.
Since the translation of the plates came out in 1611 KJV English and the Church can’t produce the plates for the public to see, we’re left with looking at the “translated” words we find in the Book of Mormon today.
We counted over 7,200 words. The means he lied over 7,200 times to everyone that’s ever read his version of the gosopel.

How would Smith Know , He was an uneducated boy?????? He had NO idea of the difference between Greek and Latin.
Then why did he make the claim that there was no Greek in the BofM? If you take the “uneducated boy” route, then he should have said, “I don’t know.”
I want to ask a question.
How could a book that one man wrote, one poor farm boy with less than a 3rd grade education have survived almost two hundred years, with a church around it with 15 million members worldwide? How could Smith have come up with all the amazingly complex geography, proceedings, doctrine and story and names of the book of Mormon by himself? The book is of God, and heeding Moroni’s promise will give a firm testimony of this.
The BOM has survived these many years because it has been protected by Satan himself. Remember, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities , against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world; against spiritual wickedness in high places,” (Ephesians 6L12)
2 Corinthians 2: “Lest Satan should get an advantage over us, for we are not ignorant of his devices
Deuteronomy 18:22). That particular verse cites God’s test of a real prophet of God, JS Failed that test many times over. Read about the number of prophecies that JS made that never came to pass, to include, the year that Jesus would return to earth.
[…] Think about this; the word gospel is Greek. Why was a word like this being used in the BC era of the Mormon world somewhere in Mesoamerica? For more info on this see our chart Greek and Latin in the Book of Mormon. […]
