FIRST PRESIDENCY MESSAGE, ‘Peace in This Life,’ December 2016
A cursory glance over the latest ‘First Presidency Message’ would cause anyone to be heartbroken.
The theme this time around was about partaking of the Lord’s Supper.
The image on the left was the central focal point, where they tried selling the story about ‘a promise of personal peace’ that’s available ‘for all of His disciples today’.
The LDS apostle, Henry Eyring, also included oft repeated stories of people receiving this peace even while dying, and how it was made available through ‘priesthood blessings’.
I was left wondering how someone’s story of receiving a ‘priesthood blessing’ would be of benefit to my mother over the holidays. With no disrespect, I have to say, my mother isn’t dying. This devotional message was more about the priesthood of man, than about the eternal priesthood of Jesus!
