Liahona, ‘Grow into the Principle of Revelation’, January 2021 “Worthy to Receive Revelation …   Refining our ability to recognize the whisperings of the Holy Ghost and increasing our capacity to receive revelation requires worthiness. Worthiness does not require perfection, but it requires that we strive for increased purity.

The Lord expects daily effort, daily improvement, daily repentance. Worthiness brings purity, and purity qualifies us for the Holy Ghost. As we take “the Holy Spirit for [our] guide” (Doctrine and Covenants 45:57), we qualify for personal revelation.” — Russell Nelson

John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”.

Matthew 11:28-30, Romans 10:13, Revelation 22:17, and Romans 5:8 are just a few of the verses stating we can come to Him for salvation without a price. Confession is all that’s needed. It’s not worthiness – our works are as filthy rags as it says in Isaiah 64:6. Nothing we could ever do will measure up.

If we had to be worthy enough, what does His spilt blood do?

Mr. Nelson’s remarks can be found in the latest Liahona magazine – the link is provided above. Nothing he said in his article contains truth, and regrettably, people like my mother believes what this man says.

Don’t miss the opportunity to share this great news of Jesus’ love and sacrifice for us with the Mormon you know!

1.Doctrine and Covenants 45:57 “For they that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived—verily I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day.”

With Love in Christ –

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16

Liahona, ‘Grow into the Principle of Revelation’, January 2021 “When we couple increased purity and obedience with fasting, diligent seeking, study of the scriptures and the words of living prophets, and temple and family history work, the heavens will open. The Lord, in turn, will fulfill His promise: “I will impart unto you of my Spirit, which shall enlighten your mind” (Doctrine and Covenants 11:13).

We may need to be patient, but God will speak to us in His own way and in His own time. … May we put our faith into action, calling upon Him, living worthy of His promised inspiration…” —— Russell Nelson (more…)
