“There is increasing evidence that some young women are being strongly encouraged to serve full-time missions. Though capable and effective, young women do not have the same responsibility to serve full-time missions as do young men who hold the priesthood. We are grateful that some desire to serve as full-time missionaries, but they should not be made to feel obligated to do so. Old-Testament-Gospel-Doctrine-Teachers-Manual-35570000The main focus of this lesson is on missionary work and how it’s the Mormon’s responsibility to share their gospel all around the world. It touches on the story of Jonah and Micah and how they are examples of Mormonism in action.

The title to the third point in their lesson caught my attention. It reads:

“Micah prophesies of the mission of latter-day Israel.”
