April 2 — Missionary Work, not Jesus, is Lifeblood of Mormonism. Psalm 73:25-26 “Whom have I in heaven but thee? And there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. 26 My flesh and my heart faileth: But God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”

The heart and soul of Mormonism is about everything, and everyone, but Christ Jesus our Lord. Where is Jesus in Mr. Rasband’s message, and why isn’t His spilt blood on the cross at Calvary the lifeblood of the Church?

“Missionary work is the lifeblood of the Church and the lifesaving blessing to all who accept its message.” — Ronald A. Rasband, Ensign, “The Divine Call of a Missionary,” May 2010, 51
The Old Sarge never went on a mission, but I have spoken to countless LDS young men and women that have accepted the challenge.
I was very uncomfortable when listening to them(Missionaries) give their Pre Misionary talk and then 2 years later, their Post Missionary talk. What made me uncomfortable was the fact that all the talks seemed the same. Like they were all reading from the same playbook. Like all the talks were written by the same person. None of the talks had any originality, creativity, or anything spiritually uplifting to say.. Every single missionary would talk about their missions as being the most wonderful time of their lives. They would add a small touch of originality when they would speak about some unforgettable character they met on the mission. The Missionaries that were really out to impress, were the ones that were able to conjure up some gushing tears while speaking.
General Authorities speaking at General Conference should each be given a class on proper public speaking. Every single GA, speaks in that same, sleepy monotone voice,. They all like to gives silly examples of what they sometimes did as a kids; this way, they win a few chuckles. They always have a story to tell about this special character they once knew and what a wonderful experience the character had meeting Mormons and finanlly getting baptized. Thom Monsom had so many Widow or Widower stories to tell about how he came to their rescue. Many of these personal stories from GAs, II believe are actually made up, a ploy to get across a certain mesage
