Greek and Latin Chart
I’ve received numerous requests for a full chart of all our findings on the Greek and Latin words found in the Book of Mormon. To make things easier for those who are interested in the findings we’re listing a synopsis of them all here – if you want the exact location of each verse, send me an e-mail and I’ll send it over to you via e-mail (it’s 43 pages).
The reason we did this is because of what Joseph Smith said;
Times & Seasons, vol. 4 (November 1842-November 1843): pg. 194; “…There was no Greek or Latin upon the plates from which I, through the grace of God, translated the Book of Mormon Let the language of that book speak for itself.”
Well, we’re letting the book speak for itself and here it is showing Joseph Smith lying to the people once again. We found a total of more than 93 Greek and/or Latin words used over 7,200 times throughout the Book of Mormon.

*“The Christian scripture was refered to in Gk. as Ta Biblia as early as c.223. Bible replaced O.E. biblioðece (see bibliothek) as the ordinary word for “the Scriptures.” Figurative sense of “any authoritative book” is from 1804.” – www.dictionary.com
You have proved nothing, once again. Anyone with any sense would realize that English words derived from Latin or Greek, and in common in the English Language, would be used in the translating of one language into English.
You might as well say that a Chinese scroll has Latin and Greek words in it based on the English translation.
A word of Greek or Latin origin used in the translation does not prove that Greek of Latin words were actually on the plates.
This is the most ridiculous one you have come up with yet.
If you believe there’s nothing in my posts why do you bother coming back all the time and why do you get incensed at what I say?
I never said there was nothing. I said there was no proof. What is in your posts is a lot of false facts and twisted information that can lead to the condemnation of many souls (including your own). Such reckless use of language and intentional deception as has been displayed in your posts causes my great sorrow where your soul is concerned, and the damage it can cause arouses anger where the souls of your readers are concerned.
Shemawater,
The information on this post, as well as on this entire blog, is 100% true and factual. What IS leading to the condemnation of many souls is the LDS religion and its lies and false teachings. The evidence proving that the LDS was founded on a fraud and continued developing by lies, false prophecies, murders, adulteries, etc is overwhelming.
The readers of this blog, if they objectively examine the information provided, would see nothing more than the LDS is a cult leading its followers to eternal damnation.
After having spent months reviewing Greek and Hebrew with a Jehovah’s Witness, I thank you for the Greek-Latin Word Chart.
However, I would appreciate a little more definition of terms. What was your criteria for determining when the usage in the Book of Mormon was based on the original Greek (i.e. apostolos) as oppossed to a legitimate transliteration of a foriegn word that would have the same meaning regardless of language base. I.e., since virtually all words that occur in English also have a corresponding Greek word, how did you determine when to attribute to Greek or Latin an when not to. Thanking you in advance and yes I would really appreciate the 43 page exhaustive list
Excellent reference source! Thank you for all your hard work.
Glenn –
You’re welcome & thanks for your kind words!

Excellent reference source! Thank you for all your hard work.
You know what you should’ve done? Make a list of English words in the Book of Mormon….that would’ve really exposed Joseph Smith and our religion would tumble to the ground
Cody, your sarcastic comment only demonstrated that you are ignorant of what you cult teaches, or else you know but refuse to admit that the BOM is a fraud.
I mean, he obviously meant there were no words written in the Latin or Greek languages on the plates. So I’m afraid you haven’t proven anything except that many English words come from Latin and Greek. But go on. :/
