God’s Power
Discourses of Brigham Young, pg 18; “God is the source, the fountain of all intelligence, no matter who possesses it, whether man upon the earth, the spirits in the spirit-world, the angels that dwell in the eternities of the Gods, or the most inferior intelligence among the devils in hell. All have derived what intelligence, light, power, and existence they have from God—from the same source from which we have received ours. 8:205.”
Proverbs 25:26; “A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.”
Why the obsession of talking about evil spirits in hell? Early Mormon leaders tended to talk about this subject quite often and compared them with their religion or the body of Christ. Why isn’t the focus upon the good things our Lord has created? The Bible tells us to test the spirits to see if they’re from God so why is this man saying otherwise? 1 John 4:1.
Not all power comes from the Lord – evil ideas and power can come from Satan himself – 2 Cor 11:14.
Demonic spirits are ruled by evil in their every thought and action – clearly this is not from our Lord. Jesus even told the people that He wasn’t casting out demons with the power of Beelzebub so His power isn’t being used by those from beneath. Luke 11:14-23.
The other problem in this teaching is the talk of gods. Where in the Bible does it mention there’s an eternity of gods?
