The Seer, pg 23-24; “The Gods who dwell in the Heaven from which our spirits came, are beings who have been redeemed from the grave in a world which existed before the foundations of this earth were laid…These Gods, being redeemed from the grave with their wives are immortal and eternal and will die no more. But they and their wives will be supremely happy. All the endearing ties of conjugal love which existed in the bosoms, when terrestrial and fallen beings, are now greatly increased and perfected which serve to swell their souls with feelings of rapturous delight, and unbounded love towards each other, and with joys that are everlasting.” – Orson Pratt
Isaiah 43:10-11; “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.”
This is my absolute favorite passage of scripture where God definitively expresses Himself to us and repudiates the notion of godhood status!
As a Mormon I’d never seen this before so you can imagine my surprise – I’m sure it’s like that for all ex-Mormons!
There is no god before God.
There is no god beside or alongside God.
There is no god after God.
God alone is God, He always has been and always will be! PTL!!!
