Answers to Gospel Questions 3:123; “After the people again forgot the Lord and dissensions arose, some of them took upon themselves the name Lamanites and the dark skin returned. When the Lamanites fully repent and sincerely receive the gospel, the Lord has promised to remove the dark skin.”
1 John 2:9; “He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.”
In June 1978 people with dark skin were deemed worthy by God to gain access to the Mormon priesthood. Did they repent then? If so, then why pray tell are they still dark?
Not one of my Native American friends, Navajos, Cherokees or Sioux has turned white.
The 1978 revelation was the LDS Church’s way of getting themselves out of multiple law suits for discrimination and had nothing to do with the “Lamanite’s” personal righteousness.
And as for me personally? My hair turned white as I aged, but my skin is still the same color it was all those years ago!
