Testing All Things
“The Lighthouse of the Lord: A Message to the Youth of the Church,” New Era, Feb. 2001; “Should doubt knock at your doorway, just say to those skeptical, disturbing, rebellious thoughts: “I propose to stay with my faith, with the faith of my people. I know that happiness and contentment are there, and I forbid you, agnostic, doubting thoughts, to destroy the house of my faith. I acknowledge that I do not understand the processes of creation, but I accept the fact of it. I grant that I cannot explain the miracles of the Bible, and I do not attempt to do so, but I accept God’s word. I wasn’t with Joseph, but I believe him. My faith did not come to me through science, and I will not permit so-called science to destroy it.” – Thomas S. Monson
Acts 17:11; “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
While there are things we accept on faith such as how God created the earth, there is nothing in the Bible telling us we must accept contradictory stories of self proclaimed prophets. Mr. Monson insists we must accept the story of creation in the Bible and to an extent I agree with Mr. Monson.
However, while he said this he doesn’t actually believe it. Mormons do not believe the word of God is translated correctly so this is a ruse.
Furthermore, he can’t believe the Bible is correct and believe Joseph Smith’s story at the same time because those two things completely contradict each other.
They always seem to have the wrong cause-and-effect links. This is shown many times and not related the way they say as in the above-noted text from Monson.
Here, it is expressed as:
Since I believe by faith that God created the universe, I can believe by faith that Joseph Smith is the prophet, etc.
Smith is NOT connected to the creation of the universe; Smith is not even in the Bible or in extra-biblical works!
What it really is:
Since I believe by faith that God created the universe, I can believe by faith the rest of the Bible, etc.
God created the universe and this is connected to the rest of the Bible. It shows God’s plan from beginning to end.
[I usually pick these things out right away as ’cause and effect’ was a major part of my work before I retired.]
As a result, or their wrong relationships in the ’cause and effect’ wordings and thinking, many people are deceived. They follow Monson’s thought and agree with that vs. thinking for themselves. The LDS does this quite often, I found.
But as you know Sue this is how they keep the adherents in. Telling them they can believe the Bible gives the Mormon a feel good moment in believing they have Jesus and Joseph. They’re fully encompassed this way, spiritually, emotionally and mentally.
Their justification for believing the lies of Mormonism is cemented in even further when a leader gives his okay to believe the Bible. Give the guy two more paragraphs or another five minutes and he’ll be denouncing God. All thoughts about trusting the Bible go down the drain immediately when the “feeling” of mistrust for the outside world is suggested. It comes over them like a thick fog in their cognitive thinking. I remember this happening all the time as a Mormon.

Hmm…could you expound on this a bit more? Think back to times that this happened to you in the past.
Now they are saying…”in the bible…” then a while later in perhaps the same talk, they are contradicting themselves? OR they are leading the people that are listening away from that topic to their intended goal? Interesting and reeks of cultism.
