New Era, “Is Jesus Christ the Savior of all the worlds God created or just ours?”, November 1985; “The Son then is the creator of “worlds without number” under the auspices of the Father. This fact is similarly confirmed by the Apostle Paul in the meridian of time. Paul knew of Christ’s activities in the preparation of multiple worlds…
If redemption is the work of the Lord in this earth, what then is understood concerning his participation as a redeemer in the other worlds referred to?…
President John Taylor maintained that Jesus Christ was the “Creator of worlds” and that he held “the keys of the government of other worlds.” President Taylor also professed that, “He holds the keys of salvation” where those other worlds are concerned.” – Larry C. Porter
Hebrews 1:1-2; “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.”
The Hebrew word for world is aiōn and it means an age or amount of time or Messianic period.
Where in that definition is there any indication this is referring to other populated worlds? Was Jesus crucified more than once? How would other people on other worlds know about His crucifixion here? This whole scenario is nonsense!
To Those Studying:The danger of determining the meaning of verses from ONE instance, is coming up with ridiculous things like this. It all must be looked at. In other words, ‘Let the Bible interpret itself from other verses.’ Now looking at this one verse, and using a very literal interpretation, it is in complete error. Looking at what the Bible writes about God’s creation through His only begotten Son, Jesus, you can see that many instances where there is only ONE world. (My ESV translations says, WORLD, not plural).
For example:
Genesis 1:1 (ESV)
1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
There are NO “earths” or “worlds”.
Keep doing your research in the Bible and you’ll find many more verses which support the interpretation of “World” and NOT “worlds” with regard to how many God created.
Take another topic, and do your research the same way. LDS materials do not make much sense as many things are: a) from the mind of the author and not in the Bible at all or b) In the Bible but interpreted wrongly such as the above verse or c) in the Bible but completely twisted around or words changed, which changes the meaning.
We pray that you who are studying what the truth is, will use the Bible as the ONLY rule and norm, without the Mormon helps, etc. God speaks through His word to you and with the help of the Holy Spirit, you’ll understand what is written.
